Spreading the joy of music, free open day

Our music service (Inspiring Music) is spreading the joy of music this new year.  We will be opening the doors of our music centres, for free, on 4 February.

The three centres in Ampthill, Biggleswade and Leighton-Linslade will welcome children and adults, both beginners and musical pros, to come along and have a go for free at different instruments.

If you, your children, or someone you know, is interested in learning how to make, play and perform music, there is a session for them.

What’s on offer?

The three centres have various sessions up for grabs including:

  • iPad music production
  • recorder stars
  • orchestral instruments
  • guitar and ukele
  • singing (with the Inspiring Singers)
  • wind, brass, percussion and drums
  • musical theatre
  • string groups

What will students learn?

Our music sessions help develop musicianship skills and confidence for those with little experience. The sessions also complement those who are already having individual lessons.

Students will also:

  • learn how to play with others
  • build teamwork skills
  • develop tempo and time signature awareness
  • learn sight reading skills
  • gain confidence in their communication skills
  • learn how to control musical expression.
