ADVANCE NOTICE OF ROAD CLOSURES

Our work will involve repairs to CCTV and variable message signs, which are used to
assist with the management of traffic on the motorway. Our control centre operators
monitor the motorway for incidents, allowing us to manage these events and maintain
the network.
To do this work safely, we’ll need to close the motorway overnight between 10pm and
5am when traffic levels are at their lowest. Each closure will have fully signed diversion
routes in place. Please find below the closure information:
Wednesday 20 March for 1 night: Full overnight closure of M1 junction 9 to 11a Northbound – 25 mins
Thursday 21 March for 1 night: Full overnight closure of M1junction 11a to 14 Northbound – 40 mins
Friday 22 March for 1 night: Full overnight closure of M1 junction 14 to 11a Southbound – 40 mins
Saturday 23 March for 1 night: Full overnight closure of M1 junction 11a to 9 Southbound – 25 mins
