IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – PLEASE READ

Afternoon All,

Today we have been notified by the Forest Commission that 3 trees on Bury Orchard (on the edge of Harlington Village Car park)  have an Oak Processionary Moth (OPM) infestation.  The caterpillars of OPM are hazard to human and animal health.

Harlington Parish Council are in the process of having the area cornered off, please follow the below guidelines:

1 – DO NOT TOUCH OR GO NEAR THE CATERPILLARS OR NESTS

2 – ALLOW CHILDREN OR PETS TO GO NEAR THE CATERPILLARS OR NESTS

3 – TRY AND REMOVE ANY NESTS OR CATERPILLARS YOURSELF.

The OPM hairs are classified as hazardous waste and must not be touched in any circumstances.
