The following information has been shared from Tingrith Parish Meeting. CBC Ward Councillor Mary Walsh will be signing a letter to MPs in relation to this matter and the effect on the Ward.
If LLA choose to go for their preferred option of an automated (and cheaper!) flight path without using air traffic controllers, then there will be a much more concentrated flow of planes at 5000 feet, as shown on p38 of the consultation document. The planes will all be directed between the solid black lines directly over Harlington, whereas at the moment the planes are brought in manually by air traffic controllers and spread over a much wider area.
LLA is already in breach of noise limits set by planning controls and there are expansion plans to increase the number of flights even further.
Being so close to the motorway Tingrith is very aware of pollution as well as noise, and obviously having a greatly increased number of planes passing directly above us will exacerbate both of those existing concerns.
