Garden waste collections to pause over winter in Central Bedfordshire

Central Bedfordshire Council will pause garden waste collections for 12 weeks this winter, from Monday, 2 December 2024, to Friday, 21 February 2025. Collections will start again on Monday, 24 February 2025.

The last collection for each area will be either the week starting Monday, 18 November or Monday, 25 November. Residents should check which week applies to their area. Other waste collections will continue as usual during this time.

Residents can sign up for email alerts to receive updates about when collections restart and other changes, including future subscription renewals. For more information on garden waste and collection dates, visit www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/garden-waste.

During the break, residents can still recycle garden waste at any of the Council’s four Household Waste Recycling Centres. These are open daily from 9am to 5pm, including bank holidays. Visit www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/tidytips for details, including Christmas and New Year opening hours.

If residents have space, they could consider home composting. Find composting tips and advice on the Council’s website. The council offers subsidised eco-friendly composting and water butt products for Central Bedfordshire residents, helping you reduce waste, save money, and conserve resources.

Stay up to date on waste collections over the Christmas period by following the Council on social media or visiting www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/waste.
