Plans to carry out monthly essential maintenance repairs on the M1 in both directions between junctions 11a and 14. Work includes technology repairs, cyclical maintenance, drainage, sweeping grass cuttings, surface repairs and sign cleaning work. Once complete, drivers will benefit from a safer, smoother and better-defined road surface.
We plan to complete this work between April and June 2025. We will work between 10pm and 5am, weather permitting.
Closures and diversions
To carry out the work safely, we will need to close the M1 in both directions between junctions 11a and 14 between and divert traffic as follows:
While this closure is in place we have an electrical team working alongside to inspect and repair lamp columns in the central reservation.
