Joint press release from Network Rail, East Midlands Railway (EMR), Greater Thameslink Railway (GTR)

We have received the communication below following the tragic incident last Friday. There is a link to the press release which contains information about what rail services to expect this week on the affected network:

Our first thoughts are with everyone affected. We are deeply saddened to hear that a driver has lost their life, and our heartfelt condolences go to their family, friends and colleagues, at what must be an incredibly difficult time. We also wish those who have been injured a full and swift recovery.

We are working closely as an industry to support the response with the safety and wellbeing of customers, colleagues and all those impacted our absolute priority.

Unfortunately, the investigation and complex recovery mean there will be disruption on the Midland Main Line this week and customers are being asked to only travel if their journey is essential. Details of the service from Monday are set out in this press release here.

Our websites and journey planners are being kept up to date with the latest information, our advice is to please do continue to check this before travel over the next few days. Train Service Updates | Live Train Status | Live Train Service | Thameslink and Train Tickets From East Midlands Railway

We appreciate the patience of our customers as we work together to restore our rail services. As always, we would be grateful for your support in helping to raise awareness with customers.

 Kind regards
