Central Bedfordshire Council is supporting towns and parishes in participating in No Mow May by pausing grass cutting on selected road verges during May to allow plants like daisies, dandelions, selfheal, and clover a chance to thrive.
Any town or parish council in Central Bedfordshire can take part in No Mow May. If your grass cutting is done by CBC, email env.services@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk before 31st March each year to suggest verges for inclusion in the Council’s No Mow May campaign. Suggested sites will need to meet criterion to ensure safety standards are upheld.
Residents are encouraged to take part in No Mow May by sharing the campaign resources which aids them to avoid mowing their lawn in May.
Individual enquiries regarding public areas during No Mow May should be directed to your local town and parish council, which will submit a request to CBC’s Environmental Services inbox. All requests will be managed through the local town or parish council. Find your Local Town or Parish website here: Town and parish councils | Central Bedfordshire Council.
