HAR 4+ A2L 1-2000 Plan

Central Bedfordshire Council is consulting you on the following proposals in the Parish of Harlington:

  • Divert a section of Public Footpath No.4 that passes through the site of the new housing development on Sundon Road.
  • Divert a section of Public Footpath No.23 that passes through the site of the new housing development on Sundon Road.
  • Creation of a new Footpath linking Footpath No.4 and Footpath No. 23 along the southern boundary of the new development on Sundon Road (Harlington Footpath No.34).

An application has been received to divert part of Harlington Footpath No.4 and part of Harlington Footpath No.23 as part of a planning application No. CB/22/0968/FULL, which is to build a new Housing Estate on Sundon Road. The application also seeks to create a new Footpath linking Footpath No.4 to Footpath No.23 along the southern boundary of the new development.

The diversions will move the legal line of the footpaths from partial cross field to around the edge of the development. As a part of the scheme a new footpath will be created along the southern boundary of the development linking Footpath No.4 to Footpath No.23. The scheme will also provide for a greater width along footpath No.23 with a view to upgrading this to a Bridleway at some point in the future subject to landowner permissions.

The diversion of part of Harlington Footpaths No. 4 and No.23 is shown on the enclosed plan between points D-E-C and X-V-Y-W-Z. The route of the new footpath to be created is shown on the same plan between the points E-W

Please review the enclosed plan and provide any comments you have by Friday 17th February.
