CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

PUBLIC NOTICE – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2021

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of Footpath No 1, Harlington which extends from its junction with Foster Road at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0375 3077 (Map point A) in a generally northerly direction to OS GR TL 0371 3094 (Map point B) where it has a junction with Robinson Crescent.

This temporary closure is required to enable resurfacing works. The closure is expected to take place from 6 April 2021 for 3 weeks.

The alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation will be: From the junction of Footpath No. 1 with Foster Road, proceed westwards along Foster Road, then northeast along Wingate Road, then generally northwards along Robinson Crescent to its junction with Footpath No. 1, and vice versa.

Further details, including a map, can also be found on the Council’s website at: https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/info/82/countryside/431/rights_of_way/2

The proposed Order will come into operation on 6 April 2021 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpath have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
