Hello everyone, please find further information received from National Highways below:
I am writing to tell you that we plan to carry out resurfacing work on the M1 northbound junction 12 to 13. Once completed, drivers will experience a smoother, safer road surface.
We plan to complete this work overnight on Tuesday 31 March 2026. We will work between 10pm and 5am, weather permitting.
Closures and diversions
To carry out the work safely, we will need to close the M1 northbound junction 12 to 13 and divert traffic as follows:
- Drivers travelling northbound on the M1 should leave the motorway at junction 12 via the slip road
- At the end of the slip road, turn left and join Harlington Road A5120E
- Continue along Harlington Road, taking the first exit at the first roundabout and continue on A5120 (Flitwick Road)
- Continue straight ahead on the A5120, going straight over the first two roundabouts
- Continue onto Dunstable Road A5120
- At the next roundabout, take the first exit onto Steppingley Road
- Continue along Steppingley Road to the next roundabout and go straight ahead to remain on Steppingley Road/Fordfield Road
- Continue along Fordfield Road to the next roundabout and take the first exit onto Woburn Road A507.
- Continue straight on at the next two roundabouts.
- At the next set of traffic lights, turn left onto Bedford Road
- At the following roundabout, take the first exit to join the slip road towards the M1 junction 13
- Rejoin the M1 northbound
Please note emergency vehicles will not have access through the works.
