Reporting faulty street lights

The majority of the street lights in the village are owned by Harlington Parish Council. The exception to this rule are those in Park Leys and all the roads leading off from here; these are owned by Central Bedfordshire Council.

Harlington Parish Council will be commencing a project from April 2016 to replace all mercury lanterns with LED lanterns to help reduce energy charges. The programme will commence with 20 lamps (£5k) with the contractor recommending the following roads (which are in the poorest condition) being replaced first:

– Sundon Road (6 lights)

– Sundon Road/Oak Close Footpath (3 lights)

– Glebe Gardens (6 lights)

– Astrey Close (2 lights)

– Daubeney Close (3 lights)

Reporting faulty street lights

Please let the office know of any faulty street lamps which belong to Harlington Parish Council. These will be recognisable by the letter ‘H’ followed by a number which identifies the lamp to the office and our contractor. Our contractor visits the village every 2 weeks during the darker winter months and every 4 weeks during the lighter summer months. Two/three days following inspection any necessary repairs will be carried out.
